Drought Risk Map

The map shows the risk of drought for people in each of Colorado’s census tracts — small geographic regions used for the US census. This shown using an index between 0 and 1, where 0 indicates the lowest risk (lightest color) and 1 indicates the highest (darkest color). This index represents a combination of exposure and social vulnerability to drought. Communities with a higher share of agriculture sector jobs, farmland as a percent of land area, and ski communities are are at the greatest risk of being affected by drought.
